It was very new for me to get involved in a campaign like this. I mainly wanted to get involved because I knew it would help my children get to school.
Miriam Alvarez has been a resident of Westwood, a neighborhood located in Southwest Denver, for about 3 years. The significant lack of transportation in that area has impacted her as well as her 3 children that live with her, so Miriam decided to get involved in a campaign to bring transportation to her neighborhood. “I participated in the campaign by inviting more of my neighbors, including one of my friends who ended up coming with me to almost all of the meetings. I learned that we have to fight for what we need and being a part of this campaign also helped connect me more to my community.”
